We are a hardworking cheer squad who strives to have fun at games, increase COLONIAL PRIDE on campus, and a participate in a successful competitive program!
Here is an idea of what we do during our year!
Camp:
We attend UCA or NCA College Cheer Camp, typically in August.
Practices:
Monday's 8:00pm-10:30pm
Wednesdays: 8:00pm-10:30pm
Fridays 1:00pm-3:30pm
In addition to practice, we have team workout days twice a week, in partners or groups.
Games:
Football games are typically Saturdays at 12:00pm or 5:00pm.
Basketball games are mostly Wednesday nights (5:30 & 7:30) or Saturday afternoons (1:00 & 3:00)

Competitions:
Our competitive season takes place from January - April.
We typically attend 3-5 different local competitions and Cheer LTD. Nationals at CANAM in March in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Fundraising: We run stunt clinics/camp for area schools, car washes, bake sales, candle sales, pancake breakfast, restaurant nights, sponsor t-shirt sales etc.
Other Squad Events:
The squad participates in the on campus Western Day of Service, Sigma Chi Derby Day & Relay for Life charity fundraisers, we volunteer at most major Recreation Department Events & participate in major WCSU Programs such as Orientation, Welcome Week, Homecoming, Pep Rally, Midnight Madness, Open house and Accepted Students Day.
Meet the Coaches!
Head Coach Debbie Parsons Bisaccia is a Western Graduate with a degree in Communication: Human Relations & former WCSU Squad Member. She works in the WCSU Recreation Department; oversees the 3 gyms and pool on campus, and is involved in planning on campus activities. Coach Deb has coached the WCSU Cheer Program for 17 years, and has a background of 12 years cheerleading and 10 years dancing herself. She is AACCA Safety Certified, AACCA Judging Certified, CPR & First Aid Certified, and has attended various UCA/NCA Coaching Conferences, and the 2011 & 2017 NIRSA Fitness and Wellness Conference. She coached Brookfield Pop Warner cheerleading for 4 years and assists various area cheer squads with choreography, cleaning routines, judging competitions, judging tryouts, and teaching stunt clinics.
Assistant Coach Bianca Paolello is a Western Graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education: History and a Master of Science in Counselor Education, she is also a former WCSU Squad Member & team captain! She is a School Counselor at Broadview Middle School in Danbury. Coach B has coached in the WCSU Cheer program for 4 years and has a background of 13 years cheerleading and 9 years dancing. She is a National Certified Counselor, CT State Certified Teacher & School Counselor, AACCA Safety, Global Concussion Protocol, NYSPHSAA Judging, CPR, First Aid & Mental Health First Aid Certified. She has assisted local recreation teams in choreography & judges high school cheerleading competitions in New York State. She is the New York State Cheerleading Judges Association education committee chair, responsible for training judges on judging protocol and scoring throughout the state of New York.
